The Red Devils have confirmed a "deal in principle" with Swansea for winger Daniel James on Friday after he had left the Wales camp in order to complete a medical at the club’s training complex Carrington.
However, according to The Sun, United’s spending will not just stop with the 21-year-old Wales international. The English publication are citing a source within the club, who claims two to four new players will arrive at Old Trafford.
“Some of the staff at Carrington have been told to expect at least two new faces visiting before training on July 1,” the source said, as quoted byThe Sun.
“The red carpet is being rolled out to prospective signings and their agents, showing them all we have to offer.
“We are pretty confident a couple are close to getting over the line. Talks are going well and have been before the end of last season.
“There could be as many as four that join up with the rest of the squad in upcoming tour of Australia and Far East.”
Ole Gunnar Solksjaer reportedly wants to bring in a mixture of youth and experienced players to push ahead with the much-needed squad revamp.
The report claims a defender is high on the club’s priority list and United have shortlisted Matthijs de Ligt, Kalidou Koulibaly and Toby Alderweireld for the position.
In addition, Paris Saint-Germain duo Thomas Meunier and Adrien Rabiot, who is available on a free deal, are believed to be also on the wishlist, so is Crystal Palace's Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
In midfield, Sporting’s Bruno Fernandes seems to be a priority after netting 32 goals in 53 appearances in 2018/19.
United are believed to be also in the mix for Benfica wonderkid Joao Felix, who has been dubbed the ‘new Cristiano Ronaldo’. Benfica’s president recently said the club received four offers for the 19-year-old, who all match the player’s €120 million (R2 billion) release clause in different packages.
