Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal "killed" Angel Di Maria during his time in England, claims a former Paris Saint-Germain star.
Edouard Cisse, who played for the French giants between 1997 and 2007, has slammed the Dutchman for his treatment of United’s club-record signing last season.
"He was a little short of sharpness in Monaco, but that's normal. He will bring rhythm and an ability to cut into defences," Cisse told Canal+.
"He will have a good manager. One of his best seasons came under (Carlo) Ancelotti. Van Gaal killed him. He must be left to express himself, he's an artist.
“Laurent Blanc will manage him and he'll have a very good season.”
Cisse also insisted that, with their current squad, PSG must aim to become the first French "Invincibles" this season.
"The other objective for PSG is to stay unbeaten all season. It's never been done before in France," he added.
"To motivate the players, it's an interesting challenge. Week after week, they would find new desire."
PSG have won their first four games of the season without conceding a single goal, and Di Maria made his debut during their last fixture, in which he contributed an assist despite only spending 24 minutes on the pitch.
