Paris Saint-Germain restored their eight-point lead at the top of the Ligue 1 table after coming from behind to defeat Keagan Dolly's Montpellier 3-1 on Saturday evening.
PSG boss Thomas Tuchel made five changes to the side that beat Nantes the last time out, as Presnel Kimpembe, Juan Bernat, Pablo Sarabia, Leandro Paredes and Mauro Icardi all earned starting berths.
Meanwhile, after travelling with Montpellier in their 2-2 draw at Dijon in midweek, Bafana Bafana star Keagan Dolly, who recently recovered from injury, was not included in the team altogether.
The Parisians had a bad start to the game after being forced to make two substitutions inside the first half-an-hour due to injuries suffered by Kimpembe and Idrissa Gueye and they were replaced by Abdou Diallo and Nianzou Kouassi respectively.
It went from bad to worse for Tuchel's men in the latter phase of the first stanza as the hosts broke the deadlock three minutes before the break thanks to an own goal by Peredes, who deflected Daniel Congre's header into his own net.
The visitors were struggling to fashion clear chances coming from the break but they were given a lifeline in the 72nd minute after Pedro Mendes got his second-yellow card for a tackle on Neymar in the edge of the box.
The Brazilian superstar did not need a second invitation from the resultant set-piece, as he curled home a spectacular strike into the top corner from 25-yards out.
The Parisians had their tails up and made it 2-1 two minutes thereafter after Neymar setup Mbappe, who raced inside the box and smashed home a low drive.
Mauro Icardi could not be left out on the party, as bagged the third goal for the defending champions in the last nine minutes with a brilliant volley after getting on the end of Mbappe's cross.
