Ligue 1
Result: Caen 1-2 Paris Saint-Germain
Date: 02 March 2019
Venue: Stade Michel d'Ornano
A brace from Kylian Mbappe saw Paris Saint-Germain come from behind to claim a 2-1 win over Caen in Ligue 1 on Saturday evening.
As expected, PSG dominated the opening exchanges as the likes of Layvin Kurzawa and Thomas Meunier went close with long range efforts in the opening 15 minutes.
Thomas Tuchel's charges dominated for most of the first half, but they were finding it tough to carve out clear-cut chances in the final third.
The woodwork came to PSG's frustration on 33 minutes when Marquinhos' header crashed against the crossbar with the Caen shot-stopper well beaten.
The remainder of the half failed to provide any openings as the hosts went into the break level pegging with Caen.
After a quiet start to the half, the visitors broke the deadlock on 56 minutes as Casimir Ninga fired past Alphonse Areola form close range to silence the home fans.
Two minutes later, PSG were awarded a penalty following a handball in the box. Kylian Mbappe took responsibility and slotted home the equaliser.
The French World Cup winner was not done there as he popped up with the winning goal in the 87th minute with a close range finish for his 24th league goal of the season.
