Kylian Mbappe was the big winner at the Ligue 1 awards gala on Sunday night, which was snubbed by Neymar, pocketing two accolades while also headlining the illustrious Team of the Year, which includes an African star.

The 20-year-old, who has scored 32 league goals in 2018/19 so far, was named the Young Player of the Year for a third time running.
In addition, he also claimed the Player of the Year award for the first time in his career, replacing his teammate Neymar, who did not attend the starstudded gala, and left the National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP) gala with two individual prizes.
LOSC Lille coach Christophe Galtier was named Manager of the Year, while Lille shot-stopper Mike Maignan won the Goalkeeper of the Year award and Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema was crowned best French player abroad.
The official Ligue 1 Team of the Year was also announced, and it features six Paris Saint-Germain players after the French giants won their sixth league title in seven years.

Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, Marco Verratti, Angel Di Maria and Neymar all joined Mbappe in the Team of the Year, alongside Lille duo Maignan and Nicolas Pepe – the only African in Ligue 1's best XI – as well as Olympique Lyon pair Tanguy Ndomblele and Ferland Mendy.
Meanwhile, Lebo Mothiba’s teammate Kenny Lala is the only player not from the top two sides in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year.
