French giants Paris Saint-Germain have officially announced their first signing of the 2021/22 season!
The Ligue 1 side has confirmed the arrival of former Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, who has signed a three-year deal in the French capital after running down his contract in England.
Wijnaldum, 30, was said to be close to joining Spanish giants Barcelona when reports last week suggested that PSG had offered him double what the LaLiga side did.
Speaking about his move, the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League winner told the club's website: "Signing for Paris Saint-Germain is a new challenge for me. I'm joining one of the best squads in Europe and I want to bring all my desire and commitment to this ambitious project.
"Paris Saint-Germain have proved how good they are in recent years and I am convinced that together, with our supporters, we can go even further and higher."
Wijnaldum made an incredible 237 appearances for Liverpool, contributing to 38 goals and winning four trophies.
