Real Madrid have officially announced the departure of French boss Zinedine Zidane.
The Spanish giants have confirmed that the 48-year-old has decided to end his current tenure as the club's first-team coach.
The club said in a statement that "it is now time to respect his decision and show him our appreciation for his professionalism, dedication and passion in all these years, and for what his figure represents for Real Madrid.
"Zidane is one of the great myths of Real Madrid and his legend goes beyond what he has been as a coach and player of our club. He knows that he is at the heart of Real Madrid and that Real Madrid is and will always be his home."
The Frenchman leaves the Spanish giants after the club's first trophyless season since 2010, although he does with his reputation firmly intact having won 11 pieces of silverware over his two spells in charge of Los Blancos.
