Zinedine Zidane Dismisses Claims Club Record Signing Is Unhappy
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has dismissed claims that club record signing Gareth Bale is unhappy, despite what is being reported in the media.
Over the past few months, a lot of questions have been asked about Bale's future at the Santiago Bernabeu, and many have suggested that the player is looking for a return to the Premier League after falling out of favour at the Spanish outfit.
The Welshman, who has suffered from injuries and inconsistent form this season, has often been linked with a move to Manchester United or his former club Tottenham Hotspur over the past few months, but Los Blancos boss Zidane has now insisted the winger is happy in Madrid, and is "an important player" in the team.
"Bale is not a sad player at Real Madrid," the French tactician said, as quoted by The Sun.
"Everyone can have their opinion, but I believe he is here and happy to be at this club. He has shown he is an important player in this team."
The 28-year-old, who moved to the LaLiga giants in 2013, has made 179 appearances for Los Blancos since, scoring 79 goals and assisting a further 58 strikes.
