The French coach has been out of work since leaving Los Blancos at the end of last season, having led the club to a third successive UEFA Champions League title.
Niko Kovac has not enjoyed the best of spells at Bayern, while Jose Mourinho's future at United remains unclear.
The French legend's son, Enzo Zidane, reveals his father will return to management in the near future.
“My father loves football and he loves to coach, this is clear,” Enzo told Diario AS.
“It seems likely that he will return to coaching soon but right now he is resting, and this is something that he needed to do.
“Managing Madrid was beautiful for him but it was also hugely demanding and involved a mass amount of work, so he is now recovering.”
