FC Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has responded to reports that Sergio Aguero is set to announce his retirement from football this week.
Reports in Spain over the weekend suggested that the 33-year-old is set to hold a press conference this week to announce his retirement due to a heart scare.
Aguero was forced off in the first half against Deportivo Alaves last month after complaining about chest pains, and was immediately taken to hospital.
The striker was ruled out for three months as doctors continue to do tests on the player, although Spanish media have reported he has decided to retire.
Xavi, meanwhile, says he is not sure where the information about Aguero hanging up his boots came from.
"I do not know anything, I spoke with him the other day and what has come out is not true," Xavi told reporters, according to Goal.
"We do not have this information, I do not know where it comes from.
"He is calm. I told him to come when he is well. It is a medical issue. We have to wait and find out."
