Having announced he is quitting Atletico Madrid at the end of the season, here is the latest on 2018 FIFA World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann's future. He is linked with a move to England, but could he soon become Lionel Messi's partner?
Amid rumours surrounding his future, the 28-year-old took it upon himself to reveal that he has chosen to move on from Los Rojiblancos, with the club and player announcing the decision on Tuesday night.
Griezmann has spent five incredible years at Atletico, whom he joined in 2014 for just €30 million (R479 million). Since then, the forward has represented the club on 256 occasions, scoring 133 goals and assisting a further 50 strikes.
It has since been widely reported that the former Real Sociedad man will join FC Barcelona, a club he very publicly snubbed at the end of last season.
Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed the Catalan club will activate Griezmann's release clause of €125 million (R1.9 billion).
The forward has also been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool, as well as French champions Paris Saint-Germain. The Ligue 1 winners apparently see Griezmann as a potential replacement for Neymar or Kylian Mbappe should one of them leave in the next window.

If the superstar puts pen to paper on a deal with the Blaugrana, he would become the club's second most expensive signing in history behind Philippe Coutinho, the player it is believed he would replace at the Camp Nou.
