According to Spanish publication Sport, Real president Florentino Perez has already decided that Solari will not be the club's head coach next season. Not even a triumph in the UEFA Champions League will be enough for the Argentine to keep his job, with Perez reportedly wanting a new man to oversee a much-needed squad revamp
As a consequence, the Los Blancos president has already started the process of finding a new manager.
With many of Los Blancos' first-choice options to become their next head coach having long contracts and/or previously snubbing the chance to lead the club, Perez has reportedly added a surprise name to his shortlist.
As per Sport, legendary Real striker Raul Gonzalez, who was recently announced as the club's new U18 coach, is Perez's in-house solution to the coaching situation.
It is believed that, as a club legend and the second-highest player in the Spanish giants' all-time scoring chart, Raul would earn the trust of the fans and could become Los Blancos' very own Pep Guardiola.
