Spanish LaLiga

Result: Sevilla 2-2 FC Barcelona

Date: 31 March 2018

Venue: Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán

FC Barcelona maintained their unbeaten run in LaLiga after coming back from two goals down to draw 2-2 in the final minutes against Sevilla at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.

After missing both of Argentina's international friendlies, Lionel Messi started on the bench as Ousmane Dembele and Coutinho joined Luis Suarez in attack for the Catalan giants.

It was Dembele and Coutinho who combined to set up Suarez in the ninth minute, but the Uruguayan sent his effort wide of the mark.

The hosts should have broken the deadlock on 21 minutes but Joaquin Correa somehow headed wide of the mark at the far post.

Sevilla were rewarded for a bright start when they took the lead on 36 minutes as Franco Vazquez turned home Correa's cross with a left-footed finish.

Barca should have restored parity just before the break but Pique fired wide at the back post after being picked out by Samuel Umtiti.

Five minutes into the second half, Sevilla doubled their lead as Muriel got on the scoresheet with a close-range finish after Vazquez's initial strike was saved.

Ernesto Valverde eventually introduced Messi just before the hour mark, replacing the in-effective Dembele.

The Catalan giants pushed for a goal and they were eventually rewarded in the 88th minute when Luis Suarez pulled one back with Coutinho getting the assist.

Messi then leveled matters less than two minutes later with a clinical finish into the bottom corner to seal a point and maintain their unbeaten run, leaving them one game away from matching the all-time LaLiga record.

Messi's focus in on the league n champion's league not some friendlies that will give u some false hope of thinking you will win the world cup friendlies at this time of the year especially before the world cup, coaches are looking for certain combinations n they do not expose their star players to unnecessary injuries.

Looking at the Barcelona team at the beginning of the season I thought this was not the strongest squad in many years...Most might say it's a miracle we still unbeaten but look at Ter Stegen, Umtiti and that Alba Messi combo was pivotal in our early League lead. Suarez was back firing Coutinho came in January the gap on top kept stretching. Drawing Roma in CL things jus keep getting better...In all honesty I didn't expect much this season especially after the super cup but never underestimate this team not while we still have the GOAT...

Wat an ordinary perfomance by barca, let's just hope it was an international break lapses nothing more, so a half fit messi comes to the rescue, I hate to think hw life wod b after MessI, if barca don't rebuild the team with the ryt player's goin forward we will b in trouble..and busquets under study is needed too that midfield it's not the same without Sergio, Rakitic tries but he's no busquet
