Gareth Bale returned to the line-up and scored as Real Madrid defeated Leganes 2-1 in a LaLiga encounter on Saturday evening.
Cristiano Ronaldo was rested for the clash, while Bale and Karim Benzema were named amongst the starting XI.
It took Los Blancos just eight minutes to break the deadlock, with Wales international Bale slotting home from close range after Benzema's strike was blocked.
Despite Real's dominance, the tempo dropped after 15 minutes and there was a long spell in the half where both sides struggled to carve out chances.
Leganes nearly leveled matters on 36 minutes but Nordin Amrabat hit the crossbar with an effort from distance.
The hosts would go on to double their lead on the stroke of half-time thanks to a close-range finish from Borja Mayoral.
The visitors managed to carve out a chance shortly the break when Nabil El Zhar picked out Guerrro, who failed to steer his header past Kiko Casilla.
Leganes did pull a goal back on 66 minutes, as Amrabat delivered a fine cross into the box where Darko Brasanac was on hand to slot past Casilla.
Bale went close to extending Los Blancos' lead in the 72nd minute but his strike from the edge of the box sailed just wide of the upright.
The visitors pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, with Claudio Beauvue going closest with an effort from distance.
However, Zidane's men remained resolute to see out the rest of the half to claim three points.
