Gareth Bale played the starring role in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo as Real Madrid cruised to a 3-0 win over Las Palmas on Saturday evening.
Zinedine Zidane opted to rest the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Toni Kroos and Marcelo, while Isco and Sergio Ramos missed out through injury.
Las Palmas looked lively in the early stages as Calleri and Alen Halilovic went close to scoring in the opening 15 minutes.
Los Blancos eventually took the lead on 26 minutes as Bale raced onto a fine pass from Luka Modric before firing into the far corner, 0-1.
It got better for Real in the 39th minute when they were awarded a penalty after Lucas Vazquez was brought down. Karim Benzema stepped up and made no mistake from 12-yards out, 0-2.
Six minutes into the second half, Los Blancos were awarded another penalty when Bale was brought down. The Welshman stepped up and converted the spot-kick, 0-3.
With one eye on the UEFA Champions League clash against Juventus on Tuesday, Zidane withdrew Modric and Casemiro for Marcos Llorente and Mateo Kovacic on the hour mark.
Las Palmas showed a little fight in the remaining 15 minutes of the counter and managed to carve out a couple chances, although Keylor Navas was not tested.
Zidane's charges managed to see out the rest of the clash to round off a comfortable win.
