Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has once again made a plea with the club to make new signings this month.
The Catalan giants have been disappointing in LaLiga this season, as they currently trail league leaders Atletico Madrid by 10 points.
Despite showing signs of going on a resurgent run in the league recently, Koeman still feels the Catalan giants need to strengthen the squad.
"My position is known: we lack people, but the economic situation of the club is an influence," Koeman said, according to Goal.
"I think we all think the same. If no one arrives, I accept it and we continue the same, but if we want more we must sign."
There were reports that Barcelona had an agreement with Manchester City defender Eric Garcia, but presidential candidate Joan Laporta hinted last month that player might only come at the end of the season when his contract expires.
“We cannot demand that the Management Board make decisions like this,” Laporta said.
“We have concluded that if he is a player whose contract is ending, we must wait.
“If we moved now we would have to pay the transfer fee plus the player's salary.”
