According to The Sun, Los Blancos are looking at Denmark international and Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen as a potential replacement for the Croatian, who is reportedly being chased by Inter Milan.
The Italian giants are said to be doing their utmost to sign Modric in the coming days, and the player is apparently interested in a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu.
Eriksen still has two years left on his current deal, however, and the Spaniards know that landing the midfielder could be a struggle as the English transfer window is now closed
Spurs are said to be desperate to get the Danish playmaker to extend his stay in England, but Real are expected to make life a little tricky in the coming days.
Earlier this year, the player's agent, Martin Schoots, revealed that "several" big clubs were interested in Eriksen.
"The only thing I can say is that concerning the interest of several clubs in Christian is that we prefer not to comment," the agent said, as quoted by The Sun.
Modric Set To Become One Of Real's Biggest Earners?
The former Ajax Amsterdam star has made 227 appearances for Spurs since joining the London club in 2013, scoring 56 goals and assisting a further 69 strikes.
