Real Madrid have reportedly reignited their interest in Liverpool and African star Sadio Mane following the reappointment of Zinedine Zidane as their manager.
The 1998 FIFA World Cup winner completed a sensational return to the Los Blancos hot seat this week, becoming their third manager in the 2018/19 campaign after Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari.
In accepting the job, Zidane was reportedly promised a staggering budget in order to strengthen the club's ageing squad.
Mane was the subject of reported interest from the Frenchman during his first stint with the LaLiga giants. According to France Football, a deal was on the table between the two parties, which would have sealed the forward's move from Liverpool to the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, the transfer hit a snag after Zidane's shock resignation just days after clinching his third successive UEFA Champions League title.
According to the Daily Mirror, following the France legend's return to Los Blancos, Real have reignited their interest in the Senegal international, who is contracted to Liverpool until 2023.
When previously quizzed about his future, Mane maintained he is happy with the Reds, but refused to rule out a move away from Jurgen Klopp's side.
"I am very happy in Liverpool but you never know what will happen in the future," he said before the 2018/19 campaign began, as per the Mirror.
Mane has scored 17 goals and registered a further three assists in 39 appearances across all competitions for the Merseysiders so far this season.
