Amid rumours he could reunite with Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus, it is believed that Brazil superstar Marcelo has met with Real Madrid's board to discuss a potential move away from the club.
The Selecao international has struggled to find his best form this season, and has been subjected to heavy criticism as a result.
Before this latest campaign got underway, it appeared that Marcelo's mind might have been elsewhere amid speculation of a potential switch to Juventus, and the rumours have certainly not gone away.
According to COPE, the fullback is thinking of leaving Los Blancos at the end of the season, despite having a contract until 2022.
Marcelo recently admitted he has missed his friend and former teammate Ronaldo's presence in the dressing room, and also explained how their families became close over the past decade.
The Brazilian was slated for his showing in El Clasico two weeks ago, while his performance against Girona on Sunday arguably cost his team three points.
It has been claimed he has spoken to Real managing director Jose Angel Sanchez to discuss his future, although there has not yet been any word on whether he will leave or see out the remainder of his contract.
