According to Cadena Cope, CLS side Dalian Yifang are in advanced negotiations with Belgium international Yannick Carrasco’s representatives.

The 24-year-old, who has only started eight times for Atletico this season, has apparently fallen out of favour with Diego Simeone, who has preferred services of his new boys Diego Costa and Vitolo.

The winger was due to play in the UEFA Europa League against FC Copenhagen on Thursday night but was left out of his team's matchday squad, which was a result of reported ongoing transfer talks between the two clubs.

Simeone confirmed to members of the media that he would allow the Belgian to leave the club if he wishes and has already pinpointed his possible replacement.

"The exit, if it is confirmed, is important - he is a player with a great future and a great present," Simeone said, as quoted by FourFourTwo.

"It is a decision of the player. Now the opportunity for Gaitan is renewed. He is a player in whom we have confidence. Hopefully, Nico grows and gives us important situations."

Carrasco, who scored in the 2015/15 UEFA Champions League when his side lost to Real Madrid after penalties, made 28 appearances for Atletico Madrid this season, scoring four goals and assisting in a further seven more.
