It is believed that Spanish giants FC Barcelona watched one of their transfer targets closely this past weekend, but they could face stiff competition from the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid to secure his signature.
According to Sport, the Catalan club's chief international scout Ariedo Braida was in attendance when Lazio took on Parma on Sunday.
It has been claimed that Braida was at the game to watch Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who is considered one of the most promising players in Europe.
The 23-year-old was impressive for Lazio last season, and had a few bright moments at the 2018 FIFA World Cup for his country.
Despite representing Serbia at international level, Milinkovic-Savic was born in Spain – in Lleida, Catalonia, to be exact.
The 23-year-old has been tracked by many top clubs across Europe, including Los Blancos and United, who are both yet to make a bid for the player.
Milinkovic-Savic played the full 90 minutes in Lazio's 2-0 away victory, but failed to get on the scoresheet or provide assist in the fixture.
