It is believed Spanish giants FC Barcelona are monitoring a player who has so far been one of the standout performers at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
According to Marca, the Catalan giants have been keeping a close watch on Russia midfielder Aleksandr Golovin, who has been in great touch for his country at the World Cup.
It has been claimed that the player has been on the Blaugrana's radar for a while, even before the tournament, which is why the club are not surprised by his performances.
Golovin has scored a goal and assisted two strikes in two games for Russia at the showpiece so far, and will be key for his nation when they take on Spain in the round of 16.
Barca sporting directors Eric Abidal and Ramon Planes are now said to be considering a move for the 22-year-old, who plies his trade at CSKA Moscow.
The Catalan club's main concern regarding the player is whether or not he will adapt easily to life in Span, considering he only speaks Russian. Barca have also reportedly looked at how the likes of Andrey Arshavin, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Yuri Zhirkov did outside of their countries, and are not too convinced as a result.
It does appear that Golovin will leave CSKA in this transfer window, though, with the likes of Juventus, Arsenal and Chelsea also said to be interested in his signature.
