Spanish giants FC Barcelona are reportedly looking to tie down a midfielder believed to be worth €50 million (R772 million) after they complete the signing of Paris Saint-Germain star Adrien Rabiot.
The Blaugrana are said to be in advanced talks with the France international, who is expected to replace Brazil star Paulinho after he returned to his former club Guangzhou Evergrande.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca are also hoping to sign Ajax Amsterdam and Netherlands starlet Frenkie de Jong after they get Rabiot's deal over the line.
The 21-year-old star, who is valued at €50 million (R772 million) by his club, is believed to be keen on a move to Camp Nou, but the Eredivisie side do not want to part ways with him just yet.
Barca are even said to be willing to wait a season to secure De Jong's signature, but would like to negotiate a deal now before any other club decides to come in for him.
The 2017/18 LaLiga champions have lost Andres Iniesta and Paulinho in this transfer window, and could possibly also lose Andre Gomes too, so they will need midfield reinforcements.
De Jong made 26 appearances for Ajax last season, scoring one goal and assisting a further nine strikes.
