Spanish giants FC Barcelona are said to be readying an offer of €70 million (R1.2 billion) plus two players for one of the most exciting young forwards in world football ahead of next season.
According to Sport, the Catalan giants are preparing a move for Inter Milan and Argentina striker Lautaro Martinez.
The Blaugrana are reportedly set to offer around €70 million for the 22-year-old, and could include two players in the bid as part of a swap deal.
The report suggests the two players that could be included in the deal are right-back Nelson Semedo and midfielder Arturo Vidal, two regular starters for the Spanish giants.
It is believed that Martinez has a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave Inter between July 1 and July 15 should a club offer €111 million (R1.9 billion) for his signature.
With Barca perhaps unable to fork out the full amount, adding two key players in the deal could see their offer go above the required figure to lure the forward from Antonio Conte’s side.
The LaLiga champions could see Martinez as the ideal replacement for the injured Luis Suarez, who turned 33 years old this past January.
The Argentina international has scored 16 goals and assisted a further four strikes so far in 30 matches this season.
