Spanish giants FC Barcelona are reportedly planning a bid in the region of €50 million (R833 million) for a French midfielder who could become their fifth signing of this transfer window.
According to Calciomercato, the Blaugrana are plotting a move for 23-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
The player, who was disappointed to be left out of France manager Didier Deschamps' plans for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, has been heavily linked with a move away from PSG in this window.
The midfielder's contract with the French giants expires at the end of this season, and he has reportedly demanded a huge salary rise to stay at the club.
Rabiot is believed to have rejected PSG's last contract offer, which has apparently piqued the interest of AC Milan, Juventus, Inter Milan and Barca.
The player would reportedly be open to joining the Catalan giants in this window, and the Spanish club see him as a possible replacement for Ivan Rakitic, who many publications have linked with a transfer, incidentally, to PSG.
Considering that Rabiot's deal in France expires next year, Barca could even pay less than €50 million (R833 million), although Les Parisiens are likely to fight for him to stay.
The player has represented PSG on 210 occasions since his arrival at the Parc des Princes in 2013, winning 15 trophies along the way.
