LaLiga champions FC Barcelona have reportedly had meetings with the mother of a Paris Saint-Germain star in a bid to sign him in this transfer window.
According to El Mundo Deportivo, the Blaugrana's director of football, Eric Abidal, has met with France international Adrien Rabiot's mom in recent week in order to try to get to know the player and his family a bit better.
The midfielder was snubbed a place in his country's 2018 FIFA World Cup squad, although he was included on the standby list, which he subsequently asked to be removed from after the disappointment of missing out on the initial selection.
The 23-year-old, who is contracted to the Paris club until June 2019, has also been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino apparently seeing the Frenchman as a suitable replacement for Mousa Dembele, who is expected to leave for a club in China.
The Catalan club's interest in Rabiot is a longstanding one, but it has also been suggested that PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi is still hopeful the midfielder will stay in Paris.
The Les Parisiens academy product has made 207 appearances for the club so far, scoring 22 goals and assisting a further 15 strikes.
