Spanish giants FC Barcelona had reportedly agreed a deal with a starlet before he ended up joining Real Madrid.
The two LaLiga powerhouses often go up against one another when chasing a player's signature, while there has also been a number of direct transfers between them.
Neymar is one example of a player who chose one over the other, with the Brazilian joining Barca in 2013 instead of Los Blancos.
Now, according to Football Espana, there is another example, this time involving Selecao starlet Vinicius Junior.
It is believed the 18-year-old had an agreement with the Catalan giants while he was still at Flamengo, before later choosing to join Real.
The 13-time UEFA Champions League winners announced in March 2017 that they had signed Vinicius, with the teenage wonderkid officially joining them before the beginning of this season.
It has been claimed that Barca had scouts watching him for some time before Los Blancos became aware of his talents.
Vinicius has represented Real's first team on three occasions so far, assisting two goals along the way.
