LaLiga champions FC Barcelona are reportedly looking at a Premier League star as a replacement for Andres Iniesta.
According to Spanish publication Sport, the Blaugrana have identified Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen as somebody who could fill the void left by the Spain international following his decision to leave the Camp Nou.
Although the club is expected to complete the £87 million (R1.45 billion) signing of Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann in the coming weeks, Barca apparently feel they need more creativity in their squad.
Replacing Iniesta, who was unveiled by J-League outfit Vissel Kobe last week, will not be an easy task, but the Spanish giants seemingly feel that Denmark international Eriksen is the right fit for the club.
The Danish star's price tag and wage expectations could scare off the Catalans, but a bid is expected in the coming weeks nonetheless.
The 26-year-old, who was included in his country's 2018 FIFA World Cup squad, made 47 appearances for Spurs in the 2017/18 campaign, scoring 14 goals and assisting a further 13 strikes.
