It has been reported that one of FC Barcelona's chiefs secretly met with Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba over the holidays to discuss a potential transfer.
According to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, the Blaugrana's new director of football Eric Abidal met with his countryman in the US recently.
It has been claimed that the 25-year-old would be interested in a move to Barca, although it would take an enormous fee to lure the player away from United.
Pogba is just one midfielder on the Catalans' list of potential transfer targets, with the club also said to be interested in Paris Saint-Germain's Adrien Rabiot.
Despite the rumours, Abidal has denied secretly meeting with Pogba in the US, with the player telling L'Equipe that the story was fabricated.
However, the initial report came from Barca correspondent Raffaele Riverso, who works as a journalist in Italy.
Pogba is still on holiday after winning the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia with France, and has been linked with a move away from the Red Devils following a difficult 2017/18 campaign under Jose Mourinho at United.
