The Frenchman is already the second most successful coach in Los Blancos' history after lifting eight titles – including back-to-back UEFA Champions League trophies – in just two years at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Only legendary coach Miguel Munoz has won more trophies (14) with Real than Zidane, whose side has been struggling this season.
After winning just three of their past nine LaLiga games, Real have dropped 19 points behind bitter rivals FC Barcelona, who are still unbeaten in 2017/18.
It remains to be seen whether or not Zidane can save the season with a triumph in the Champions League and/or Copa del Rey, or of his side will end the 2017/18 campaign without any major trophy.
Either way, Marca believe the Frenchman is fatigued and is struggling to cope with the immense pressure at Real – a club known for zero patience with coaches under president Florentino Perez.
The Spanish publication has suggested that, within the club, there is a growing belief that Zidane is ready to walk away from the dugout after the current campaign.
As a consequence, Real's bosses are readying themselves to find a successor for FIFA's The Best Men's Coach in 2017 and have apparently identified Germany boss Joachim Low and Tottenham Hotspur's Mauricio Pochettino as potential replacements.
