Real Madrid coach Santiago Solari will reportedly be sacked on Monday, with various media outlets in Spain suggesting that Zinedine Zidane will return to the club and replace the Argentine in the dugout.
Last week, a report from El Chiringuito suggested that Zidane was sounded out by his old club as to whether or not he would be prepared to rejoin them after Santiago Solari's men were knocked out of the Copa del Rey and UEFA Champions League in the space of just a week.
Initial reports by El Pais on Monday claimed that Zidane rejected the chance to return to the club and was offered a three-year contract by Juventus. However, the latest news indicate that Solari will be sacked following a board meeting on Monday evening, and Zidane will be announced as his successor.
If he does rejoin, the Frenchman would return to the club just 10 months after resigning following a trophy-laden two-and-a-half year spell at the Santiago Bernabeu. Zidane lifted nine titles in his first stint in Los Blancos' hot seat, including three successive UEFA Champions League titles.
While Marca have reported that Solari has already said goodbye to the first team, Spanish football expert Guilem Balague has stated that Zidane will lead his first training session with the team on Tuesday.
