With FC Barcelona still looking for a new forward, the latest reports suggest that they will sign an African star in a shock move in this window after agreeing to a "deal in principle".
The Blaugrana sold back-up attacker Munir El Haddadi to Sevilla this month, after the player reportedly failed to agree to a contract extension on his deal, which was set to expire at the end of the season.
Barca have now identified Ghana's Kevin-Prince Boateng as their latest target, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
Di Marzio's tweet translates to: "Yes, @KPBofficial... to @FCBarcelona: Today he departs to Spain, loan agreement with option to buy for €8 million @SkySport @SassuoloUS #calciomercato"
The 31-year-old has scored four goals in 13 Serie A appearances for Sassuolo so far this season, and could now be on his way to the Camp Nou.
