FC Barcelona have reportedly identified their next head coach to replace Quique Setien, whose future at the Camp Nou remains in doubt.
While the 2019/20 LaLiga season is officially over, Setien is reportedly set to remain in charge for the Catalan giants' UEFA Champions League encounters next month.
Setien has only been in charge of the Blaugrana for seven months since taking over from Ernesto Valverde, but the results have not been pleasing in recent weeks.
There has been no indication as to whether or not the 61-year-old will be in charge next season, but according to Spanish publication Diario Sport, Laurent Blanc is on standby to take over at Barca.
It is reported that Blanc, a former Barcelona player, has become the leading candidate for some at the Camp Nou if the club decided to part ways with Setien.
As a manager, the Frenchman claimed one Ligue 1 title with Bordeaux, and also won 11 trophies with Paris Saint-Germain before his departure from the Parc des Princes in 2016.
Blanc could follow in the footsteps of Pep Guardiola, Luis Enrique and Ernesto Valverde in becoming a former Barcelona player who went on to coach the club.
