Vinicius Junior scored a screamer in Los Blancos' 2-0 win over Osasuna on Wednesday and was seen falling on his knees before breaking into tears as his teammates surrounded him to celebrate.
"They were right (to whistle) because I wasn’t doing well," he said, as quoted by Marca.
"But finally, the goal I dreamt of came.
"I was excited because it was taking me a long time to be myself again and I haven't been as happy as last season.
"It was a complicated time in the game, but I've worked very hard for this moment."
The 19-year-old also revealed a chat he had with coach Zidane ahead of the game that saw him score his fourth goal of his Real Madrid career.
"Before the game, Zidane asked if I was going to score, and I told him 'yes'," he explained.
"And when I recieved the ball, the first thing that came to my mind was to shoot."
Vinicius has scored four goals and assisted another 13 in 37 appearances since joining Real from Flamengo for €45 million (R741 million) in 2018.
