New manager Julen Lopetegui has his work cut out for him in this window, with several players being linked with moves away from the Spanish giants, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, who is the club’s highest scorer of all time.
The Portuguese looks set for a €100 million (R1.5 billion) move to Italian champions Juventus, following a reported fall out with the Los Blancos board. According to Marca, Achraf Hakimi could leave on loan for Borussia Dortmund in the coming days too.
Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic is another player who could be on his way out of Real in this window, after admitting that he might to move on in order to play regular first team football.
The Daily Star have reported that winger Gareth Bale is still on Manchester United’s radar, but Real’s position on the Welshman might change if Ronaldo signs for Juve. However, Lopetegui has previously made remarks on the former Tottenham Hotspur man that would suggest he does not have a future under the Spaniard.
Striker Karim Benzema could also find his future elsewhere come the start of the 2018/19 season, but which players could come in to replace the stars expected to leave?
Chelsea winger Eden Hazard is said to be a transfer target for the 13-time UEFA Champions League winners, following a few impressive displays for Belgium at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The Belgian has been on Real’s radar some quite some time, but this could be the window in which they make an official bid for the 27-year-old.
Kylian Mbappe is another star player that is reportedly on Florentino Perez’s wish list, though it is unlikely that Real persuade Paris Saint-Germain to sell the 19-year-old only a season after he joined the French giants.
Brazil goalkeeper Alisson could also become a Real player ahead of the new campaign, along with 23-year-old Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who was born in Spain and is known to be a big fan of Los Blancos. With the likes of Benzema, Bale and Ronaldo on the exit list, Robert Lewandowski could also be targeted by the club.
