Despite reports that a certain striker is on the verge of signing for Spanish giants Real Madrid, the forward has made a remark that suggests he might not join Los Blancos after all.
Eintracht Frankfurt forward Luka Jovic has been heavily tipped to join the 13-time UEFA Champions League winners ahead of next season, with reports in recent weeks suggesting he is close to being wrapped up as Real's third signing of the window.
However, the 21-year-old Serbia international has now seemingly thrown a spanner in the works, saying that a move to England or Italy might suit him better.
"From my experience in the Europa League, I would say that some other leagues in Europe are more suited to me and my way of playing football," Jovic told Die Welt.
"In terms of the physique, the Bundesliga is very demanding, but after the games against Chelsea or Inter Milan, I personally had the feeling that I could feel even better (playing) in the Premier League or Serie A. The way the teams play there suits me better."
Jovic scored 27 goals and assisted a further seven strikes in 48 matches for Frankfurt during the 2018/19 campaign.
