The Spanish giants have struggled since the departures of record club goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo to Serie A giants Juventus in July 2018 and record-winning UEFA Champions League coach Zinedine Zidane in May 2018.
Indicative of their fall from grace this season is Real's current position on the LaLiga table. Following their second consecutive loss to rivals Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu in four days, Santiago Solari's side languish in third position in the standings, 12 points behind log-leaders Barca and five points behind second-placed Atletico Madrid.
With Los Blancos still looking for somebody to fill the void left by Ronaldo, the LaLiga giants have often been linked with a move for Belgium and Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard, who seems poised for a move to Spain after having snubbing two new contract offers from the Blues, according to the Transfer Talk podcast.
This week, new reports from the Express suggest that the Spanish giants are keen on signing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen, and will use under-fire winger Gareth Bale as collateral in a cash-plus-player deal for the Danish international.
Bale, who joined the club in a staggering £90 million (R1.6 billion) deal from Spurs in 2013, has reportedly fallen out of favour at the club and was recently booed by his own fans after being taken off in Los Blancos' 1-0 loss to Barca on Saturday.
According to Tuttosport, Real have identified Argentina international Nicolas Tagliafico as a replacement for Brazilian defender Marcelo, who, as mentioned above, is said to be keen on following in the footsteps of Ronaldo in joining Juventus at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Real have already confirmed the transfer of Brazilian wonderkid Rodrygo Goes, who agreed terms with the club in June 2018, penning a six-year deal. He is expected to join up with his new teammates in June 2019.
While it seems as though Bale and Marcelo are heading for the exit door, other names such as Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic, who is loan at Chelsea, and out-of-favour midfielder Isco could also leave the club, but to see all the names that could join or leave, click through the gallery above!
