Real Madrid wonderkid Vinicius Junior, who is beginning to step up following Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Juventus, has now been showered with praise by Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague, who claims the teenage has attributes "of both Ronaldos".
Los Blancos shocked many when they dipped into the transfer market in May 2017 to snap up a then 16-year-old Vinicius from Flamengo in a deal said to be worth €45 million (R690 million).
The highly-rated Brazilian teenager has since started to repay the faith in him shown by the 13-time UEFA Champions League winners, and has cemented his spot in Santiago Solari's starting XI.
Vinicius has made 21 appearances across all competitions for Los Blancos' senior side so far this season, netting three goals and being on hand to assist a further 10 strikes.
The BBC Radio 5 live Football Daily Podcast panel recently dissected Vinicius' impact at Real, with Balague saying that the 18-year-old has attributes of both Brazil legend Ronaldo Nazario and five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo to his game.
"Vinicius has brought to the side an electricity, a sharpness and bravery they did not have," Balague was quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
"In my eyes, he has got a bit of both Ronaldos. When he starts running with the ball – the power, the strength, the pace, the control he has with the ball at his feet – is similar to that of the Brazilian Ronaldo.
"It doesn't mean he is going to be as good as either of the two Ronaldos, and from here he has to have the right mentality, to work hard, be lucky with injuries, and have the confidence of the coaches.
"But, right now, he's got everyone in his pocket. Real Madrid's fans absolutely adore him."
Vinicius arrived in Madrid in July 2018, days after Real's all-time top goalscorer Ronaldo penned a €100 million (R1.59 billion), plus add-ons, deal with Juventus.
