Los Blancos were believed to be prepared to go all in for De Gea in the coming transfer window, but Jose Mourinho doesn’t seem prepared to let him go without a fight. As a consequence, United have reportedly slapped a €100 million (R1.45 billion) price-tag on the Spaniard and Real have started to assess other options.
Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois has also continuously been linked with the Spanish giants, but he recently stated he will still be at the Blues next campaign.
Roma’s Alisson has appeared as the new name high on Real’s wish list after impressing in Serie A and UEFA Champions League this season. The 25-year-old, who is currently battling with Manchester City's Ederson for the spot in goal with the Selecao, joined Roma for just €8 million (R116 million) from Internacional in 2016 and the Italian side could now sell him for a massive profit.
It is suggested that Roma would hold out for €50 to €60 million (R870 million), but Liverpool are also interested in his services. Alisson himself, though, seems to be excited by the prospect of playing for Real.
"Those links massage the ego, it cannot be denied," he recently told Globoesporte.
"People get satisfaction from recognition. I feel very happy to have that recognition. It means that I am doing my job well, that they are watching me. Even more so when one hears about Real Madrid."
While the future of Zinedine Zidane’s current number one, Keylor Navas, remains uncertain, Real have reportedly also identified Hajduk Split’s Karlo Letica as long-term target. The 21-year-old would come cheaper than any of the others and would be a signing for the future.
