Venue: NOEVIR Stadium Kobe
A brace from Carles Perez guided FC Barcelona to a 2-0 victory over a Vissel Kobe side who had three former Barca players in their side.
Antoine Griezmann was handed his first as a Barcelona player, while youngsters Riqui Puig, Alex Collado and Ronald Araujo also started.
The were some familiar faces in the Kobe line-up as Andres Iniesta, David Villa and Serg Samper all previously represented the Catalan giants.
It was the former Barca star who looked threatening in the opening exchanges, with Iniesta squandering a good chance inside 10 minutes before he set up Dankler, who nodded wide minutes later.
Ernesto Valverde's charges enjoyed a lot of the possession in the half, but found it tough to carve out clear-cut chances as the stanza went on.
Griezmann went close to breaking the deadlock just before the halftime break, but his close-range strike sailed over the crossbar just moments before Marc-Andre Ter Stegen denied Iniesta.
After a host of changes at the start of the second half, Barca broke the deadlock on the hour mark as Malcom played in Carles Perez who fired into the bottom corner.
Chances continued to fall for the LaLiga champions as Carles Alena had a long-range effort saved after 72 minutes before Ousmane Dembele had a shot palmed away eight minutes later.
With four minutes remaining, the win was wrapped up as Perez completed his brace with a neat finish from close range after being set up by Guillem Jaime.
