Los Blancos did not sign a big-money replacement after Ronaldo’s departure ahead of last season, with former youth product Mariano Diaz taking over the iconic number.
However, Diaz widely failed to meet the expectations that come with the historic shirt number and was now striped of the shirt.
Real announced their new squad numbers on Friday and Eden Hazard received the famous No.7 shirt, as already rumoured ahead of his arrival.
Meanwhile, Luka Jovic received the 18, while Ferland Mendy will wear No.23, Rodrygo the 27 and Eder Militao received the 3.
