Spanish giants Real Madrid announced the first signing of the transfer window on Friday afternoon.
Los Blancos, who unveiled Julen Lopetegui as their new manager on Thursday after he was sacked by Spain the day before, have announced the signing of Brazil wonderkid Rodrygo Goes.
"Real Madrid C. F. and Santos Futebol Clube have agreed that Rodrygo Goes will play his football at Real Madrid when he reaches the legal age requirement," a statement on Real's official website read.
"Although the player would be able to play for our club as of January 2019, the agreement in place sets out that he will join the squad in July of that year."
The 17-year-old will turn 18 in January 2019 but will only join Los Blancos after the 2018/19 season.
Reports suggest that the Madrid club will transfer €54 million (R843 million) to Santos for the talented youngster, who is the second Brazilian wonderkid, in recent times, to join Real after Vinicius Junior.
