Official: FC Barcelona's Second Departure Confirmed
With players such as Andre Gomes and Paco Alcacer reportedly on FC Barcelona's exit list, the LaLiga champions have now confirmed their second departure of the window.
The Blaugrana and Premier League outfit Watford FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Gerard Deulofeu for a fee €13 million (R201 million), plus €4 million (R61.9 million) in variables, according to the Spanish giants' official website.
The 24-year-old winger played 17 games under Ernesto Valverde in 2017/18, scoring twice, before going out on loan to the English club.
Deulofeu played seven games and scored one goal for the Hornets, who he is now joining on a permanent basis.
The former Everton star joined Barca's La Masia academy in 2003 when he was just nine years old, and eight years later, in 2011, made his Barca B debut under Luis Enrique.
In April that same year, when he was 17 years, he was included in a first-team squad for the first time, and in August 2011 he played his first game for the Spanish giants' senior side.
Deulofeu's departure comes after club legend Andres Iniesta's move to J-League side Vissel Kobe last month.
