The Catalan giants confirmed the departure of defender Marlon Santos on Thursday evening.
The 22-year-old, who came through Barca's famous La Masia academy and spent last season out on loan at OGC Nice, has joined Serie A side Sassuolo for a fee of €6 million (R99 million), plus add-ons.
"FC Barcelona and US Sassuolo Calcio have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Marlon Santos. The Italian club will pay FC Barcelona 6 million euros," a statement on the Spanish club's official website.
"FC Barcelona retain the right to buy back the player and 50% of the economic rights on any future sale.
"The clause regarding future sale will not come into effect if Marlon plays 50 games with US Sassuolo Calcio, at which point the Italian club is obliged to pay another 6 million euros."
Marlon made three appearances for the Blaugrana in the 2016/17 campaign and lifted the Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana with the first team that season.
He becomes the ninth player to leave the Camp Nou in this window, following Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes, Andres Iniesta, Paulinho, Lucas Digne, Gerard Deulofeu, Aleix Vidal and Douglas through the exit door. So far, the club has made €80 million (R1.3 billion) from player sales alone in this window,
