Despite Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola having previously said he would not return to FC Barcelona as a manager, his father seems to have suggested a return to the Camp Nou could be on the cards.
Seven years after his exit from the Catalan giants, the 48-year-old is still the manager held the in highest regard for his remarkable achievements while in charge of the club between 2008 and 2012.
Although he has previously insisted he would not return to Barca in a managerial role, Guardiola would likely be welcomed back with arms wide open if he were willing to go back to where his career started, both as a player and a coach.
Valenti Guardiola, his father, was recently in Spain to collect the Best Coach award on behalf of his son at the Gala de les Estrelles organised by the Catalan Football Federation earlier this week, and it was there that he said Pep returning to Barca could happen one day.
"Maybe Pep will return to Barca one day," he said, according to Sport.
"He's the one that decides.
"I am really proud of him and of my other children."
Guardiola won 14 trophies in four years in charge of the Blaugrana, including two UEFA Champions League titles.
