FC Barcelona must get their title chase back on track tonight against a very strong Atletico Madrid outfit, who themselves will be aiming to secure UEFA Champions League football next season – here's how the two sides will line up!
Teams: FC Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid
Date: 30 June 2020
Venue: Camp Nou
Following the Catalan giants' frustrating encounter against Celta Vigo over the weekend, in which they dropped two points, the Blaugrana will look to reclaim top spot with a home win against third-placed Atletico.
Diego Simeone will be aiming for his fifth win in five games after the league's restart and take advantage of a wobbly Barca.
The current LaLiga champions can draw encouragement from their impressive league form against Los Rojiblancos. In their past last 10 league meetings, the six-time UEFA Champions League winners have won seven times and drawn three of those matches, and last tasted league defeat to their opponents in 2010.
In team news for the home side, Lionel Messi will be looking to score his 700th career goal, with the likes of Sergio Busquets set to return, while Frenkie de Jong misses tonight's encounter due to injury.
For Los Rojiblancos, Joao Felix and Diego Costa are expected to lead the attack, although there are major doubts over the availability of defensive duo Mario Hermoso and Sime Vrsaljko.
Here's how the two teams will line up:
Barcelona: Ter Stegen, Semedo, Piqué, Lenglet, Alba, Rakitic, Busquets, Vidal, Riqui Puig, Suárez, Messi.
Atletico Madrid: Oblak, Arias, Gimenez, Felipe, Lodi, Saul, Thomas, Carrasco, Llorente, Correa, Costa.
