Date: 20 March 2021
Venue: Estadio de Balaídos
Karim Benzema bagged two goals and an assist as Real Madrid defeated Celta Vigo 3-1 to move to within three points of LaLiga leaders Atletico Madrid.
Los Blancos were without the services of captain Sergio Ramos through injury, which saw Zinedine Zidane recall Casemiro to the line-up.
The opening exchanges proved to be a lively affair with sides looking for early goals, as Karim Benzema saw his strike excellently turned away by Hugo Mallo.
However, Benzema was not to be denied on 20 minutes as the Frenchman opened the scoring with a neat turn and finish into the bottom corner after some good work by Toni Kroos.
The lead was doubled 10 minutes later, with Benzema completing his brace with another clinical finish after getting on the end of Kroos's instinctive flick.
All was not lost for the visitors, who managed to pull a goal back five minutes before the break when Santi Mina nodded home a free-kick from Denis Suarez.

Celta looked to pull themselves level just after the hour mark but Real shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois produced a fine save to deny Iago Aspas, whose shot seemed destined for the bottom corner.
Benzema nearly completed his hat-trick with 11 minutes left on the clock after latching onto a poor back pass but he was denied by Celta shot-stopper Ivan Villar.
While Benzema was unable to bag a third, he turned provider for the third goal as he crossed for Marco Asensio who tapped into an empty net.
