Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, who was heavily tipped to take over at Real Madrid, has now commented on Zinedine Zidane being reappointed by the Spanish giants.
The Portuguese tactician was said to be wanted by president Florentino Perez amid Santiago Solari's struggles, but when the Argentine was sacked, it was Zidane who returned to the club.
Asked recently how he feels about the Spanish giants' decision, Mourinho has insisted he believes the Frenchman's return to Los Blancos is good for the club.
"Zidane is perfect for Madrid and this is perfect for himself, for another great opportunity to show how good he is with a new project after the fantastic things he has achieved in recent years," he told El Chiringuito.
"I think it is perfect and fantastic."
Following Zidane's return, news publications in Spain claimed senior members in Real's dressing room were against the idea of the club rehiring Mourinho.
Zidane will take charge of his first game back at the helm against Celta Vigo in a LaLiga fixture on Saturday.
