After recently being called out by a former Real Madrid player for a perceived lack of effort, Isco has responded to claims he is not working hard enough to get into the club's starting XI.
In a recent interview with AS, ex-Real player and coach Ruben de la Red said that "Real Madrid is a club that does not wait for anyone" when asked about Isco's situation, seemingly implying that the player is not doing enough to get himself into the team.
The Spanish playmaker has been reduced to a bench role since the arrival of Santiago Solari in the club's hot seat, playing just 514 minutes in 15 appearances under the Argentine.
Isco has since taken to Twitter to respond to De la Red's comments, and claimed he is not getting the same opportunities as some his teammates do.
The tweet translates to: "I completely agree with De la Red, but when you are not getting the same opportunities as your teammates, that changes things… Despite that, I'm continuing to work hard and battling for the moment when those opportunities arrive! Hala Madrid!!"
Isco was left on the bench in the Copa del Rey El Clasico on Wednesday night.
