A former Real Madrid president has claimed there has been contact between the club and Zinedine Zidane over a potential return to the Santiago Bernabeu hot seat for the Frenchman.
8 Coaches Linked With Real Madrid
With Los Blancos having been dumped out the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League, and slipping 12 points behind leaders FC Barcelona in LaLiga in the past week, Santiago Solari's job appears far from safe.
While Jose Mourinho has been linked with the position, former Real president Ramon Calderon has rather surprisingly claimed to know that the club have been in contact with Zidane.
"I know that, this morning, the president (Florentino Perez) called Zidane to ask him back, he said not now," he told BBC Radio 5 Live.
"He has left open the possibility of coming back in June."
Zidane won nine trophies during his two years at Real, including three consecutive UCL titles.
